Cleon Leoaunodis McCoy, Jr. was born on
February 7, 1934, in West Pocket, North Carolina.

He first gave his life to the Lord in 1958 and later rededicated himself in 1981, answering God’s call once more. Always sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit, Cleon was drawn to a nearby Church of God in Christ. For months, he faithfully placed his tithes in the church mailbox without ever stepping inside.

Seeing Beyond the Horizon by Faith

"And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them that they are the seed, which the LORD hath blessed." – Isaiah 61:9

More than twenty-five years ago, New Community COGIC began in the living room of our home, and today, this ministry has grown to multiple locations across Maryland. Looking around, I see that while some members have moved on to other ministries, we continue to flourish and expand!

The Importance of Community Building

Community building and engagement are essential elements for fostering a sense of belonging and collaboration among individuals within a group.

At its core, community building involves creating a shared identity and purpose, where members feel valued and connected to one another. This process often starts with identifying common interests, values, and goals among community members. By facilitating discussions, organizing events, and encouraging participation, leaders can nurture relationships and create an inclusive environment that strengthens the community fabric.
